Hello,
I just went to upgrade my Basic Account, which has half a year to run, to a Plus account. But I saw that I was going to be billed the full price to get a year of Plus service from now, which, it seemed to me, would mean losing out, i.e. I'd have paid for half a year for no reason.
Though the sum involved is not huge, it would be great if there were some incentive to upgrade. A minimal version would be to discount the remaining portion of the present paid-up Basic plan; a really tempting alternative would be to offer that the first year of the upgraded plan would go through to the original renewal date, i.e. that the upgraded bit of the present subscription year would actually be free.
Interested to hear if there are any plans to make upgrading more tempting.
Thanks,
Rick

I always work with customers who want to upgrade in these situations. In fact, if they do upgrade (without even contacting us), I get back to them with the options :)
Basically the main way we do it is apply the extra credit you have as extra time to your new expiry date. I'd say all but three or four upgraders have decided to take this route. The other option we provide is to send you the difference back via PayPal.

That's good to know! I think I'll go for that extra time option. I'm glad I asked here, as this might stop other people hesitating.

Yes, it might :) We will be switching to a monthly system shortly, so hopefully that will clear it up :)
