I have deleted a post from my blog, however, it still appears on my webpage through Feed Digest. Are there steps that I need to take or a change in a setting to have the deleted post disappear from the feed.

Yes. Change your digest to "Show Live Items Only". It's a tick box on your edit digest page.
The reason we show dead items is that some people are processing rapidly moving feeds but still want old items to appear. So we added that live item option for people who don't want to see them.
