Is it possible to use the query feature to display feeds that only contain todays date?
for example i want to show events from a calendar rss feed for the current date, so only todays events show up

Unfortunately not, the filtering isn't powerful enough to allow dynamic queries (e.g. today's date). Perhaps your calendar provider can provide a more advanced feed that will meet this need?
