I've got some great new hardware to run Feed Digest on. Initial tests show the main database server, in particular, is some five times faster than the current one. So.. everyone will be seamlessly moving over to the new gear in the next week.
However, alongside this I am rolling out an entirely new feed parser that's backported from "Feed Digest 2007". It laughs in the face of invalid feeds, and is a gazillion times faster (actually, about four times faster, but who's counting?) than the current one so we can turn up the wick even more for paid users, and perhaps get that "guaranteed crawl every X minutes" feature rolled out.
Although work on Feed Digest 2005 is not really officially ongoing, a lot of the easier bits and pieces are being backported successfully. The parser update is the most major thing, however, as the change may affect your digests depending on how your feeds are crawled. Keep an eye out for this and report any problems ASAP. I will post here again when changes are going live and/or if there are scheduled outages. There shouldn't be though.
