How do I get the items in my feed into the order that I want them?

My FI account is linked to an RSS feed that I edit using WordPress. I often use the "edit timestamp" function on WordPress to stick things in the middle of the feed. For example, if I have a post titled "January 1, 2009" and one titled "January 4, 2009," and then later I want a post titled "January 3, 2009" in between those, I will edit the timestamp on WordPress so that it looks like I posted "January 3, 2009" before "January 4, 2009." But FI still puts "January 3, 2009" as the most recent post, so I go to "Digest Settings" on my FI account and edit the setting for "Order Items By."

Right now, every time I put it in "Item Date" order, the most recently added item is on top, even though the timestamp is not the most recent. If I set it to order items by "Item Title," they look correct in the preview, even though that makes no sense since you'd think that if it were going by title the ones starting with F (for Feb.) should be in front of the ones starting with J (for Jan).

Am I misunderstanding what the different "Order Items By" options mean in the first place? How do I get the items in my feed into the order that I want them?
