Oops. OK - nudge ;-) Everything was working well for a while, but last night I entered an article with a link to a google map, and the URL in the feed tripped the invalid feed situation again.

You can find it in the feeds listed in the initial post - search for the maps.google.com in the text.

Thanks

I will certainly fix this. However, I've been forced to take the day off tomorrow so it might stall a few days. Please give a nudge here next time you're on and keep it at the top of my mind :)

OK, thanks. For the time being a deleted and republished that article with a different link so I can get my feed working again.

I realized that I probably haven't seen this before because I have search-engine-friendly URLs turned on for my Joomla site, except the component I'm using still uses the standard way of URLs with ampersands. So this may be a more rare occasion for me than I at first thought- but anybody running some form of php based sofware may eventually run into this trouble when an address is thrown into a feed.

Feed outputs were, unfortunately, mostly an afterthought added once the key part of FeedDigest (the HTML and JavaScript outputs) were completed. Unfortunately outputting XML requires more stringent standards than HTML :)

The problem doesn't seem to be a link as such, but rather just text that has an unescaped ampersand in it (from my reckoning). We should be able to fix that :)

I've got another situation where my source feed validates and my FeedDigest feed doesn't

Source feed

http://feeds.feedburner.com/aPlaceOfGrace

FeedDigest feed

http://app.feeddigest.com/digest3/FMY1LDF52G.rss

The issue is in the first article. The source feed has a link to a Joomla component and the link isn't valid in Feed Validator. In my source feed the article is enclosed in CDATA, the FeedDigest removes the CDATA.

I could fix this by creating a redirect in my htaccess file and not using this Joomla link, but I tend to use these kind of links a lot, so I'd be interested in discovering if this is a bug.

thanks
