The issue previously was not relating to how items are processed or stored, but how they were being output for display, so if there's something else happening now, it's not a related issue, and the items themselves may be erroneous.

I've had a look at the HTML and RSS digests of that and they both seem to be okay (internally consistent, at least)?

I'm still having some trouble. Old items in DHYB3AF4YL that show HTML are breaking the layout. Is it possible to flush this cache and let it rebuild?

I've just had word back that a fix has been put into action. Might take an hour or two for caches to flush on some digests however.

Aha, I see the problem. I'll notify the new developer of it and the fix. I think it was just an oversight.

I'll have a quick look to see if anyone's changed the code. I don't have responsibility for the coding anymore, so someone else may well have changed it.

Ah, not just me then - that's comforting :)

That last sentence I wrote was just weird, BTW. It should read that brackets are being turned into amp entities, of course.

FWIW, the HTML feed from FeedDigest seems to work fine...

For what it's worth, one of my digests has started showing HTML as well. The page URL is http://celestialdelights.info/news/spacenews.php; the feed ID is DHYB3AF4YL. As previously reported, everything was fine until yesterday.

This won't help your RSS digest at all, but try %DESCRIPTIONUNESCAPED% as the tag in your template for the digest to sort this problem out.

Thanks for looking at this, admin. The Feedburner feed just uses the Feeddigest feed, so is passing on the character entities, I think. I'm assuming it's something happening going into/out of Feeddigest, as it's doing it with all the feeds I'm aggregating here (mostly Flickr, Blogspot). I might be wrong though. Will check the route again.

Addendum: Here's the difference between Flickr's RSS and Feeddigest's:

There's been no changes at our end in the way feeds are processed lately.

Looking at http://feeds.feedburner.com/inscribed .. it appears to be the same in there.

This has just started happening, as of around the 7th of November (I think). There's data being piped everywhere, so it's a little hard to track, but I think the problem is with FeedDigest.

Basically, I'm getting items' HTML show up rather than the item itself. Example: http://exmosis.net/ - angled brackets are being converted into character entities somewhere along the line. (Previously, the HTML would be parsed OK and everything would look nice.)

I'm using FD to aggregate the various blogs, and judging by my FD RSS feed, it's happening there somewhere.

Can't think of anything I've done to change the behaviour. Any thoughts?
