once i add the code from those websites to my .htacess and upload it to my root i get a 500 internal server error for my website, so after a bit of research i added the following code

AddType text/html .htm .html
AddType application/rss+xml .rss .xml .0
AddType application/xhtml+xml .xhtml
AddType application/x-httpd-php .html .htm
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .html .htm

and all is good
