Hi there,
Yes I did do as you said heres my per-item code:

<big>» %TITLE%</big> %DAY2%/%MONTH2%/%YEAR2% %HOUR2%:%MINUTE2% from %SOURCENAME%
<ifdescription>%DESCRIPTIONPLAIN,240%
</ifdescription>

But for some reason it still opens in the same page.
Any more help would be greatly appreciated.

To make new links open in a new window, you need to change <a href="%URL%">%TITLE%</a> to <a href="%URL%"target="_blank">%TITLE%</a> (not %SOURCEURL%) in Per-Item Template.
