Actually no, there was an item in the feed on Friday, but it was removed and it is still there. The widget should not contain items.

Thanks. We were polling http://feed.informer.com/widgets/MY_WIDGET_ID.html but now we will poll both. One of the feeds updated but the other is still wrong. The problematic one has id XSJZYP6PO3.

Thanks again for your help and we would appreciate any feedback on your findings.

If you opted for HTML/Javascript format for the widget, you need to poll
http://feed.informer.com/widgets/YOUR_WIDGET_ID.js

Hi,
Thanks for your response. We set up a cron job just in case. However, these changes have been made since Friday and have not been reflected in the widget yet. Is that expected?

For the record, the cron job is hitting the html pages of the widgets i.e the href of the first element in the <noscript> option of the widget. Is that good?

Hello,
generally it depends on how frequently the source feeds for your digests are updated, but if you want to be sure your digest or widget is always up to date I would recommend to request it every 5 minutes, oftener would be impractical.
As for your other message, please take into account that widgets and digests are cached, so do not expect that your changes apply immediately.

I am not sure if this may be the cause: both widgets we are using have the "show live items only" option set and the updates to the feed are added entries with older publication dates then those that are being displayed (the ones displayed have been deleted from the feed but are still showing in the widget)

It is my understanding that a feed would take at most 30 minutes to update but mine are taking longer.

How frequent does access to the page have to be so that we do not need to setup a cron job? If we do, what frequency should it target?
