Dear xtx,

the template you have chosen is not supposed to be HTML5-compatible, still since you use HTML code you have all the tools at your disposal to edit the template manually (or re-write it completely), so it would match a document type of your HTML pages.

Hi, 'Just sent this into your support page, but realized I probably should have posted here instead.

I'm having an issue with a feed.informer feed containing invalid characters. This feedvalidator link shows where the offending feed (from Craigslist) contains bad characters, like "\x95".

While, strictly speaking, this isn't Feed.informer's fault, it sure would be nice we could count on your feeds to only contain valid XML.

Thanks for the change.
If you make one last change in the section:

...script type="text/javascript"src="http://208.88.226.83...
to
...script type="text/javascript" src="http://208.88.226.83... (insert a space between the attributes)

then the code will validate correctly.

Hi...I am getting validation errors as well only in IE. tried Jscript and asp version of powered by code and getting errors. Can we have a fix for this. Its an awesome service but this is creating some havoc and just managed to figure it out after several hours of hunting down rogue code. Please advise

If you can't test your code for the most basic and fundamental things like validation, I can't trust you to put things on my site. I liked feed informer, but I have no choice but to remove it. I can't trust you to not screw up my site without warning.

I've frequently got feed data that contains IRC log information in the form [timestamp] <nickname>. FI is stripping out the nickname and converting the last bracket in the timestamp to an HTML entitiy for no apparent reason. Unnecessarily converting to HTML entities is weird, and possibly a symptom of a problem, but it isn't a problem by itself. What IS a problem is stripping out the IRC nicknames. Instead, it should convert the < and > characters to HTML entities so they'll render in the browser, and not be mistaken for HTML code. It should NOT strip them out entirely.
