Looks like Feed Informer has fallen over yet again. For me, this is the last straw - I've deleted all my Feed Informer feeds and implemented another solution using the Google API. It's a pity, but maybe when all their users have done the same, someone at FI might realise that you can't keep letting cutomers down like this.

Something bad has happened -- all my feeds have disappeared. When I try to check on them something called Ruby on Rails won't load. What all is up?

Hi,

The stat tracker .gif's are slow to load. Most of the time each request takes 2 seconds, and sometimes each request takes as long as 20 seconds. Some of the pages have multiple feed.informer feeds on them, which means multiple images. Please remove them,

this same thing happened to me. Also, I aggregate six blogs into my feed and they all read title and then "my blog" there are six different sources and each one is named individually but this does not carry over. WTF? I have tried to update the feed a handful of times and it never allows me to update.

I can't add newsfeeds to my feeddigest due to following error:
"An internal server error occurred. Please try again later."

Experimental coding should be done on some test computer, not on a live (production) server. My guess is the new owner doesn't have much ca$h laying around. LOL

I get a message that says something like "you specified a web page instead of a feed" even though I know it's a valid feed. This happens when I try tio create a new digest or try to add a feed to an existing digest - same checking code, I guess...and it's broken!

I realize that this will fall on deaf ears but I cannot create a new digest. When I attempt to do so I get the following error:

Yes, it's a bit up and down, and primarily at this end, although we're not entirely sure if it's a network issue rather than a software one as the software itself seems fine.. just a clog of connections every now and then. Currently it's running nice and fast again and will keep an eye on it.

It's almost certainly because the feed is too big. It's 1.5MB. We only really support feeds up to a few hundred kilobytes, like most other services (FeedBurner, for example, is 256KB).

I guess we could look into changing this at some point, but it'd require a bit of work as it would need some conditional timeouts rather than the global ones we have now. Is there a more succinct version of the feed available?

I've been getting that message today as I've tried to add feeds. Here's one feed I've attempted to add...

Actually.. I hate to say this, but it is updating, and it's got the latest post in our database that I see in their feed. So.. it seems like it's actually working (?)

Re: feed.. That feed is a bit weird. In my feed reader it shows as blank with no entries, yet if I view the raw source, there's an entry. In theory I can't see why we can't parse it, but it is definitely very, very invalid ;-) See http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sj-r.com%2Fextras%2Fbreaking%2Frss.asp .. lots of errors!

I'm going to play with our parser now and see if I can make some tweaks to get it to parse. I'm priding the parser on its ability to read totally broken feeds nowadays, so this will be a good challenge ;-)

Also, and I know you're busy, but in the future if there was a way I could force an update on all my feeds with just one click (instead of doing them all individually) I would be a happy man.

True dat on Blogger. But you might want to consider forcing all feeds to refresh at your end, if possible. Not everyone knows about this neat little trick. :)

Aha, well some of that is probably connected to the Blogger bug. Hopefully if you're now seeing updates on previously out of date digests, this means our new parser is doing much better at reading invalid / odd feeds. It certainly seems to in testing, but real life performance is the proof of the pudding! :)
