Important TikTok Updates for 2025

Pitching Your Music for Editorial Support

Want to get your music featured on TikTok playlists, banners, or hashtag campaigns? Make sure to submit your music releases and hashtag videos for consideration using the TikTok Music Pitch Form. You can also use this to pitch all Hashtag videos for support ie, #newmusic/#ontour

(Note: Regular submissions increase your chances of being included in TikTok’s promotional efforts.)

Managing Your Music Tab

Your Music Tab helps showcase your catalog directly on your TikTok profile. If you need to add or remove tracks or encounter any issues, submit a request through the Music Tab Support Form. TikTok estimates a five-day turnaround for processing these requests. If it’s easier for you, you can also remove songs directly within the app.

Activating Your Artist Account

Artists can unlock new features by activating their Music Tab through a TikTok Artist Account. The setup process takes approximately 3-4 weeks.

Account Support & Verification

For any account-related issues, such as locked accounts, email or phone updates, handle changes, or verification, you can contact TikTok’s support team with the contact information below:

Verification Requests: Submit directly in-app under ‘Settings & Privacy’ or use this form. Note that verification applications can only be resubmitted every 30 days.
Verification Dropbox Form: You may also submit the verification application using this Dropbox form.

When applying for verification, be sure to also include:

Sign-up date (month and year)
Registered login location (city and country)
Registered device (phone model, e.g., iPhone 8+)

What’s Changing?

Previously, there was a longer delay between the end of a calendar month and when you received your YouTube royalties. But now, we’re speeding things up so you get paid sooner.

Before the Change:

January 2025 royalties were processed in April.

February 2025 royalties were processed in May.

Now:

January 2025 royalties will be included in the December 2024 run, published in early March (just days after February ends).

February 2025 royalties will be included in the January 2025 run, published in early April.

From now on, YouTube royalties will be paid right after the calendar month closes—no more waiting months to access your earnings.
