I bought a house with an existing fire pit about 3 years ago and haven't had any issues. Yesterday, I was outside and noticed that the brick / mortar around the gas line extrusion was missing a piece around it. I'm trying to seal it up to ensure no water can get through. From what I've read online, regular sealant isn't ideal due to the heat / possible corrosion on the gas line. I'm just trying to ensure no water intrusion! While doing some plumbing on our second floor we turned the main water supply off to the house and forgot to turn off the water heater.

Now when we turn the hot water on it maxes out at 90 degrees on all our house taps. The heater is set to 120. The hot pipe beneath the water heater is hot to the touch.

Any ideas on why there isnt any hot water out the taps?

   submitted by /u/jollygreentallperson
[link] [comments] Plumbing /u/jollygreentallperson Bane of my existence https://www.reddit.com/r/Plumbing/comments/1jyqoa9/bane_of_my_existence/ Plumbing help offered here, please post pictures. urn:uuid:6896d6c0-4f30-b842-ed9e-6a3e70473f6e Mon, 14 Apr 2025 04:40:22 +0000

House traps / sewer traps (whatever you call them) make no sense to me.
